Silentium Group’s (SGI) absorptive noise barrier wall system with integrated coping beam has been installed in collaboration with Ground Breaking Foundations on the entire north MSE wall phase of this project.

Over the past month, SGI and Ground Breaking have kept the pace for General Contractor Graham, while simultaneously continuing to complete both remaining phases of the elevated guideway and south MSE wall – noise barrier scope of work on this complex project.

Silentium Group Chosen by Metrolinx to Keep the Peace with its Integrated Noise Barrier Wall System

By twelch_6wku8674
Monday, February 27th, 2017

Silentium Group is leading by example and is getting noticed as an industry leader for providing innovative integrated noise wall systems, design flexibility and superior customer service.  Such reasons are why Metrolinx chose Silentium Group to provide an integrated noise barrier wall / retaining wall system for the Mississauga, Ontario Winston Churchill BRT Go Station.

With substantial grade separation between the Metrolinx property line where buses enter the terminal and adjacent neighboring residents; Silentium Group was up for the task when requested by Metrolinx to provide an integrated retaining wall / noise wall system design including an option of increasing the noise barrier wall height after installation.

Metrolinx  embraces the concept of community based development through community relation programs while valuing feedback from surrounding residents affected by such projects. Metrolinx wanted to provide the effected residents the option to increase the height of the noise wall after the BRT Go Station was operational. The Silentium Group was able to meet and exceed all required expectations set forth by Metrolinx on this exciting Go Transit project.

Silentium Group’s MTO DSM Noise Wall System ‘On Track’ for Stouffville Metrolinx Phase 1 Project

By twelch_6wku8674
Wednesday, February 15th, 2017

Over the past 12 months Silentium Group has provided its MTO DSM noise barrier wall system and integrated retaining wall solutions on the Metrolinx – Stouffville Rail Corridor Phase 1 Expansion Project from south of Kennedy Rd to north of Marilyn Ave. Over 17,000 sq. meters of Silentium Group’s Eco Sound Barrier is to be installed on Phase 1 of this Corridor project by end of 2017.

Working closely with Dufferin Construction, a Division of CRH (and Metrolinx), Silentum Group’s Eco Sound Barrier system was an ideal choice by both the Contractor and Owner. With noise wall panel spans of 4.2m and stack heights of .914m, Silenitum Group Eco Sound Barrier panels weigh less than 190lbs with the ability to be cut and modified onsite. These lightweight panels are being installed using smaller equipment than cumbersome heavy alternative noise wall panels and within a shorter period of time. With a very tight corridor footprint, constant train activity and the noise wall system being installed within an offset of less than 500mm from resident property lines; Silentium Group’s Eco Sound Barrier system has been an ideal choice for this project application.

Through community relation programs, Metrolinx thrives to achieve aesthetic continuity requirements throughout these corridor type projects while looking for community feedback from residents. Silentium Group was able to provide Metrolinx with an abundance of aesthetic options through its innovative manufacturing technology. A modern slate grey colour was chosen on the corridor side to accent the streamlined design of the Eco Sound Barrier noise wall panels; while also accenting the galvanized steel posts. An intricate grey stone print pattern was chosen for the residence side of noise wall as per community feedback.

Silentium Group will continue to provide updates on this exciting project as it progresses through 2017.

The Silentium Group is pleased to announce that their MTO DSM Eco Sound Barrier System integrated with its ready fit framed noise barrier wall panels were selected as the engineered reflective noise wall solution for the rail expansion project in the Stouffville, Ontario corridor. The Silentium Group’s Eco Sound Barrier System was able to stand out from the competition through various advantages of a lightweight and easy to install design, acoustical performance, combined by the various aesthetically pleasing options available.

The Stouffville 5 kilometer rail expansion will consist of over 16,000 sq. meters of the Silentium Group’s reflective sound wall and is the first part of a multi-year project with future phases to expand and improve 17 kilometers of corridor.  The Silentium Group is excited to have their MTO approved DSM Eco Sound Barrier System supplied in this project as it will not only improve transit, but provide environmentally conscious noise mitigation solutions along with an enhanced aesthetic appearance to residents in the area. Phase 1 construction to commence October 2015 with estimated completion by June 2016.
